In 1946 Ed Callaway and Joe Moore opened Moore's Drug Store in a building at Five Points. Two years later, along with partner Harry Ellis, they purchased a second and called it Ellis Drug Store. After graduating from pharmacy school in 1950, Ben Moore joined the staff and became a partner with his father and uncle in 1953. A year later Ellis Drug Store became Moore's Pharmacy. In 1958 the Moore family opened Cleveland Apothecary on Broad Street and immediately saw the need for additional space and a better location. As a result, the family opened Medical Center Pharmacy on Ocoee Street in 1962 and Super Discount Pharmacy on Spring Place Road in 1978.

Today, Joe S. Moore continues the family tradition of pharmacy ownership and operation in Cleveland. A mural depicting this tradition can be seen on an exterior wall of the Ocoee Street Building as a tribute to the history of the community.
